View Full Version : ebay bargain - don't miss!

I noticed this item description today:

this is what happened to it....i turned the lens the wrong way and the lens came off, the metal stick(see photo) fell out of the camera. Then i poked my finger inside and pushed the 3 closed shutters open. These shutters no longer move when taking photo, so ive jammed them somehow, but not bent them. The camera works A1 before this happening.

Sounds too good to miss :rolleyes:

Haha - that must be a joke :D

Either that or not a DSLR as you can't actually get at the shutter *laugh

I don't think it is a joke. Here is the listing

It's got one bid!

I suppose it might be useful for some spares, but I can't see me bidding on it

Looks like the body is Ok ....

Looks like just the lens that's perhaps damaged... A cheap body for someone.

Looking at what he's done to the lens, I suspect the "shutters" he mentions are really the aperture blades. The body is probably fine, but if this is how he treats his equipment God only knows! :D

Looks as if he's managed to pull off the front section of the lens, I'd think that's quite an achievement really. I wouldn't know what that little bit of metal is though.

3 bids, currently at 31.85

I hope someone will buy it and tell us what he really did!

Hmmmm.... no mention of a battery charger - I wonder if it's stolen?

18th December 2008, 10:34 PM
If you look back at the seller's completed auctions, you will see that the charger has been sold with 4 batteries, as also the strap, and a screw-in converter lens. My bet is that the seller tried to take the converter lens off, but actually unscrewed the front assembly. Lesson - take great care when accessories are screwed into plastic - because they might end up that way - screwed.
