I liked the caption which appeared with this pic in an Oz newspaper - That's not a lizard THIS is a Lizard!

Looking up some info I found these can grow to quite a size - guestimate from the brickwork, the one shown to be about 3-4 feet in length - and can be tamed to eat out of the hand. Taking one of these for a walk on a leash would certainly be a talking point.

That's when your wife comes rushing in saying "there's HUGE lizard on the porch please get rid of It", and like most of the "HUGE spiders", you go out with a jar to put it in.......

Saw this in today's newspaper. Its okay when you know what the creatures are and their temperament, its when you don't know that you panic.

What, like:
Redback spiders
Funnelweb spiders
Bullet ants
Salt water crocodiles
Brown snakes
etc., etc.
