One of the internets biggest online stores, Amazon, appears to have finally started giving its users an additional way to protect their accounts. According to The Verge: -> http://www.theverge.com/2015/11/18/9753888/amazon-two-factor-authentication-2fa

Some Amazon users can now enable two-step authentication, providing an additional level of security over accounts.

The big advantage, of course, of enabling such a technology is that the verification code changes – meaning that even if a hacker manages to steal your Amazon password, they won’t be able to do anything with the account unless they also the latest verification code.

For more details how to do that go to: -> http://www.hotforsecurity.com/blog/how-to-enable-two-factor-authentication-on-your-amazon-account-13032.html

Thanks for the heads-up Wally.
Unfortunately 2FA doesn't appear to be available for me. In fact under account settings I can't locate advanced account settings, unless I can't see the wood for the trees.

Hi Steve, It looks like the 2FA refers to the Amazon USA website as the web-addie was for Amazon.COM. I posted this as we have some US of A members. This will, I hope, quickly trickle down to other Amazon web outlets.

I presently have this system on a banking account and as I use the .FR and .DE to buy friends children items for birthdays and Christmas etc., it can't come quickly enough.

On this basis, I've dropped an email to Amazon UK to find out if / when the system will become active.
