If you're going to show the front photo we may as well see the top too. ;) :D

From one rumour site.
A trusted source told me the new E-M10II will have only minor improvements over the current E-M10. One of the major new features is the addition of an electronic shutter mode.

I think the electronic shutter would have to be 'a given' with any new models now & the updated styling (to being closer to E-M1 & E-M5 Mk II) & improvements will keep it relevant for new buyers as well.

Another thing I have noticed that it seems that the EVF/Live View button now becomes Fn3 like the E-M5 Mk II.

I hope it's as cute in the flesh as the old E-M10!

Looks a little busy on the top right now for a "consumer" camera. Think I prefer the old model in terms of functions on top. The EM5 II looks better laid out for a more pro product, this just looks a little intimidating.

If it has an articulated screen like the old E-xxx and 5 II it'll be an interesting one to watch

I really hope it DOESN'T have an articulated screen if that means something that folds out to the left before it swivels horizontal. I like shooting from the waist sometimes and having to unfold the screen before flipping it horizontal makes the camera twice as wide to hold and is much less discreet. I'm particularly bothered that the new E-M1 ii will go the same way too. It could be a deal breaker for me...

Hi I really miss the articulated screen, I find the flip up screen restricting, we can't have it all, but then we have WiFi tethering on the later models.

Agreed. Flip-out bad - Flip-up good.

I didn't like it on the E-3 and the E-M1 has got it just right...

Shows you how we are all different

For me fully articulated is where it's at. Really miss that on the EM1 currently. It would be a deal maker for me.

Maybe we should put it to the vote?

I would set up a poll if I knew how to

I would dearly love to see the display tilt & swivel. If pivoted from the bottom of a tilting plate it would satisfy both situations perfectly & if that tilting plate went fully vertical with a cut-out to clear the EVF the screen could be facing forward for group selfies on a tripod. Unfortunately that is probably not likely to happen for the lack of vertical space to allow the swivel at the bottom (without increasing the height of the camera or reducing the size of the display). Yeah, I know, that's what WiFi can be used for now.

EDIT: Of course, a tilting plate with the swivel (articulating point) on the left might possibly fit physically (& maybe adding 1-2mm to the body's thickness).

I really like the version on my E5 and find it especially useful on a tripod. Also I like the ability to put the screen out of harms way when "off piste" but I can see the advantages to others of the alternate design. Would it be too much to ask for alternative twin models - a bit like some makers are now offering sensors with and without anti-alias filters

I always get a bit concerned when I hear of Cameras leaking images.
If the images can leak out surely stray light can get in!

I think you should have had an image of a leaky camera following that! :p

Leaky E-M10 sounds bad - it's not waterproof :(
I wonder if the colours run when it leaks?

The Mark II has just been announced. It looks like a fairly modest update though.More news here :

Looks like Olympus have found another production problem with a new O-MD model - but at least they've caught it earlier than they did with E-M5 and E-M1!

According to 43 Rumors: "Olympus Japan (https://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?depth=1&hl=en&ie=UTF8&prev=_t&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=ja&tl=en&u=http://www.olympus.co.jp/jp/support/cs/info/2015/09/001/index.html&usg=ALkJrhjzIfa8hCOg-HUH6WoISrMRZLqNxw) just issued a statement explaining that it will “pause” the E-M10II sales because of a manufacturing issue. There is yet only a Japanese press text that google translates as follow:
This time, in the digital single-lens camera “OM-D E-M10 Mark II”, in the case of installing a replacement lens of plastic mount on the camera body, we find that there are things the lock is easy to come off.
Now, so we have to consider the improvement, we will meanwhile, was temporarily suspended sales.
The timing of sales resume, we will again guide you in this site to aim the end of September.
Regarding already your response to this was customers who received your purchase, because the very trouble …. was a dedicated window below, we would appreciate your inquiry.
That I apologize the inconvenience to our customers, and apologize."
