Hopefully a hypothetical question, but putting the EC14 on my E-3 with, say, the 50-200 SWD - is the legendary weatherproofing compromised?

Supposedly not - as the ec1.4 is Pro series, same as the 50-200.

Both the EC-14 and EC-20 have the fine rubber skirt that seals the lens around the mount.

Phew!! glad you've said that, I thought it was, that rubber skirt is definitely there, but I did worry when I saw the title of this thread!*yes

I had the EC-14 and 50-200 SWD on the E-3 when I fell into a stream this summer :o The kit was totally immersed for a couple of seconds before I could scramble out but the camera just carried on working regardless. I think that's a good testament to Olympus weathersealing *yes

Cheers,

That is certainly a resounding endorsement for the weather sealing!
