I currently have an Olympus E 620 and in low light situations it uses the flash (strobe) to assist in focusing and it really blows.
I am looking to purchase an OM-D E-M10 and was wondering what type of focus assist light it uses. I've read reviews but couldn't find any info.
Cheers

Hi and welcome. According to the specs, it follows the other OMD bodies and has an in-built focus assist lamp.

Excellent...sooooo much better than that flash strobe on the 620.
Thanks for the quick response.

It sort of works but I am not sure it works if there is nothing to focus on.

I tried to take some bulb pictures of the meteor shower earlier this week but how to focus on infinity was a problem. The automatic system shines a red light but pointed up to the sky this didn't see anything.

I switched to manual focussing and managed to focus on a tree silhouetted against the moonlight but if the focus ring had an infinity setting it would have been a lot easier!
