View Full Version : Which 3rd party battery ?

Hi all

Bought a new OMD Em10 yesterday :)

Has anyone sourced a good replacement/spare battery for it ?

Don't want to pay Olympus prices...

I have read somewhere that the BLS-1 battery will also work in an EM10 and its charger ?

Both Power Planet and Ex-Pro offer BLS5 clones at under £10. Both work in my EPM1, EP3, EPL5 and OMD EM10. No difference as far as I can tell between either and the original Oly' BLS5.

I got a BLS5 off amazon for under £10, seems to work OK so far

Ex-Pro also did this battery. But I'm unable to find an example at the moment.

I only use Olympus :)

Well for me £55 for an Oly' v's under £10 for 3rd party is a no brainer and two years on from my first 3rd party BLS5 I'm unable to tell the difference between them. I have 10 BLS5s, only 4 of which were Olympus batteries, and there really is no difference.

No problems with third party clones-they may not last just as long but yoou can always buy 2 or 3 and still be in pocket.

I'm happy with my Ex-Pro versions (in E-M5)

Have used Ex-Pro in both EM-5 and EM-1 and was happy with both. Also used 7 Day Shop in my E620 and they were good.
