I am wanting an A3 colour printer as I like to do my own prints and want to move up in size

After a lot of browsing/reading and poking at devices in local shops I am settling on the HP Photosmart Pro B8850 (http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/en/ho/WF06a/18972-18972-3328063-3328076-3328076-3380537.html)

Just before I place an order, does anyone have this and is able to comment ?

BTW Ian/John - maybe a sub section in this part of the forum for printers would be useful

Regards
Andy

Andy,

I bought the Photosmart Pro 9180gp, in January 2008, which is a predecessor of the B8850. I believe it uses the same ink/print technology as the newer B8850.

I can vouch for the performance of the printer technology. I use the printer infrequently but when I do, I expect top notch performance straight away. This printer delivers this - Epson eat your heart out - no blocked nozzles. cartridges therefore no cleaning cycles to pass through. Build quality is superb. Select the application colour profile and what you see on the screen is what you get. I would recommend this printer.
PS The gp version that I bought included a Greta Macbeth monitor calibration kit.
