Hello All - and an apology for Ian,

I've been a regular visitor to your forum since it began a year ago. (I also post on the UK & US 4/3rds forums [fora?], but I had thought that this site was targetted at a higher level of competence than I possess.)

BTW the user name & profile pic are from one of our pet dogs - Gwyver is a 10 year old Italian Spinone.

And finally, here's a couple of shots from yesterday when I was experimenting with a newly acquired Canon 500D screw-on close-up lens.

Welcome Chris from an old Stockfodian. (Thinks that is how Stockport folk are reffered to?)

Hey Chris - welcome and no worries; no apology sought or required! :)

I love the effects in your pictures with the water droplets t-up

Welcome Chris,

I know your area very well as I used to visit the area many times over 25 years whilst working for my last company (I am now happily retired). My favourite place to stay was the hotel at Disley, by the golf course. Sorry, I have forgotten its name. You are very fortunate to live in such beautiful surrounds. Look forward to seeeing some more of your images.
Peter

Peter,
You must mean The Moorside - which has changed ownership numerous times in the past few years. It went through a short phase of being called The Holiday Inn, Disley - which must have confused a helluva lot of people with poor eyesight who were expecting to stay next door to Mickey Mouse & friends :)

You are very fortunate to live in such beautiful surrounds. Look forward to seeeing some more of your images.

Happy to oblige - here is another from our garden, taken during the sunny interlude last month.
