Hi,
I took this yesterday during a trip to Ashridge Forest. I realise that they dont compete with Andy's wonderful pics from a few weeks ago but I like the composition of this. Any comments welcome.
Also I would like to know what the Proper name is for this fungus, I think there are one or two experts here, can you help?
Thank you

Shirley,

Very pleasant composition.

For information, Outdoor Photogpraphy magazine are running a fungi comp at the moment - closing date 31/10/2008.

As for your question, I'm afraid I have no idea what it is!

Oo, I might have a go, but I will need to get a copy of the mag first, unless they have a website. Thank you

Thanks for the complement.

As usual your composition is so good.

I've just looked in my book and I think they may be Hypoloma capnoides but am probably wrong as there are quite a few that are similar.

I sure one of our experts will know.

They certainly look like a Hypholoma. ie, one of the sulpher tuft group. if the gills are a greenishyellow they probably are!
