Can I use a OLYMPUS SRF-11 Ring Flash Set with my Sigma 105mm f2.8.

Or should I how easy is to attach one?

the simple answer is that as long as the internal diameter of the RF11 is sufficiently large so it doesn't cause vignetting the rest is all down to your 'engineering' skills.

people have created effective attaching elements from 3 ice lolly sticks and some epoxy in the past.

another alternative is to get the cheapest lens hood you can and canibalise that to create something to mount the RF to (I use hot melt glue for the final connection as it holds well but can be peeled off as and when)

given that the RF11 located to the old 50-200, I would expect you can find a way to get a workable solution with that lens.

a quick look up and look in the 'bits box' suggests another possible solution - you could use either a Colkin 62mm mount which would screw into the filter mount on your lens and the holt melt glue it to the RF head (it's light enough to be mounted this way like this

excuse the quick phone snap

or something like a 62-72 step up ring would seem to sit rather well.

hope this helps.

I faced the same problem some time ago and converted a 58mm Cokin P Filter Adapter to fit into the ring flash as shown in the pics below:

it would appear that the 105mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM Macro with it's 62mm filter fitting isn't the same!

nice implementation Dave
