Hey All

Here's the link on the Adobe site to Lightroom 2.1 for those who may wish to download it. This version has not been made available through the usual auto download route just yet as the Adobe Lightroom team wish to ask the community to help in some final testing.

Just thought I'd post for your info, that's all...

Thanks for the heads-up John.

Interesting they're taking this route - presumably as a result of some of the very mixed results people have had with 2.0. My copy has been fine, but there seems a substantial body of users with serious speed issues, especially centred around the new Gradient and Brush tools. There have been suggestions some of these are related to Nvidia cards - which caused problems with one of the 1.x versions as well, I believe.

I may leave it few days before trying it - just in case.

Interested people may want to have a look here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/adobe_lightroom/ No doubt someone will yell if there are issues...

Yes, thanks for the info, John. My copy of v2 is fine, quick and stable, despite me having an Nvidia card. However, I didi uninstall v1.4 before fitting v2. I'll probably wait till it's an official update.

If they didn't make so much money, I'd actually feel sorry for Adobe. Making a piece of complex software like Lightroom, able to work consistently on the almost infinite combinations of hardware platforms, operating systems, software, dubious home/ office networks and monitors must be a nightmare.
