Hi, Sorry if this has been covered before but I've not found it yet.
Has anybody set their E-M1 AEL/AFL button to focus only?
How have others set this button please?

Yes, I tried it as this is how I used to work my Canon 5D, but have reverted to the shutter button focussing. I now have that button set to AEL (spot metering).

Yep use it all the time. You need to set the camera to MF mode3 and then set the camera to MF.
Gives you the advantage of being able to auto-focus with the AEL button and also to Mf at any time which with MF magnification assist set makes things really easy on the E-M1 and E-M5.
You have to be a little careful at a half push of the shutter locks you exposure.

Used this on all my Oly cameras.

Ditto.

What I'm also finding is that I'm using Focus Peaking as well to fine tune and ensure I get the focus where I want it. This also gives and indication of the depth of filed as well by virtue of highlighting all in focus areas.

This combination I am finding excellent for landscape/still life or anywhere it is not required to focus on a moving object. This covers the bulk of my photography.
