The St Cross Hospital (almshouses), just outside Winchester, is having a craft fair this Saturday, the 20th. Here is their website

Both Ellie and myself have been there and found it quite photogenic. Plus there's the craft fair, plus a tea shop, plus a pub on the corner, plus Winchester itself :)

Here's my gallery from my first visit

Ellie might be able to get there, we are planning to go. So if you are in that neck of the woods - its recommended :-)

PS, Satnav co-ordinates are N51.04805 W1.32229 if anyone is interested. The craft bit runs from 10.30 to 4 ish I think

Brilliant idea Pete. I'll do my utmost to be there, St Cross is a wonderful place to visit with heaps and heaps of photo opportunities, and they don't mind tripods either.

Of course you also get the "Dole" too, which is a beaker of ale and a small portion of bread.

The aerial view of the place is

I've checked the weather, according to Yahoo Saturday will be a good day http://weather.yahoo.com/Winchester-United-Kingdom/UKXX0157/forecast.html

It'd be great if some other people are able to get there. *chr

There's plenty to look at in Winchester after St Cross closes its doors for the evening, the main part of the city is only about fifteen minutes walk along the river.
