There are reports from some people that that their new E-M1's are exhibiting shake-like characteristics in images (like ghosting or double-images) at certain shutter speeds.

It only seems like a relatively small number of people are experiencing this but I would like to collect the evidence and send it to Olympus in Japan.

If you have any images that relate to this issue can you please upload them to my DropBox account via:

http://www.dropitto.me/IanBurley

The password is egroup.

Please provide unedited original camera files (RAW or JPEG).

I'd advise include a note (text file, for example) with the file or files including the file name and your contact details). Only one file can be uploaded at a time so it would be best to upload a zip of all files in one file.

Thanks,

Ian

It would be handy to have an example posted here, so I know what is the problem and what is my usual rubbish photography. :)

Ron, I posted an image under Camera Conference/OMD-E-M1 titled "IBIS Question" post number 60, which demonstrates the problem I had with the camera in the first two weeks. I will drop this image to Ian if I can find it!

Is this the problem that I asked about in my post http://e-group.uk.net/forum/showthread.php?t=29558&highlight=shutter+shock

It's discussed in the E-P5 review http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/olympus-pen-e-p5/18

No it is not the same. The issue with the E-M1 does not appear to be constant. Reseting it can clear it for a while sometimes. Sometimes a certain shutter speed is fine but other times not.

possibly - but the statement "And thankfully, the image shake issue that has plagued some Olympus cameras does not appear to be a problem in the E-M1 as compared to the E-P5" in the E-M1 test/review suggests otherwise ie they will have used a comparable testing basis, and for this statement, will have specifically looked for the same issue.

The E-P5 issue is repeatable where this is not the case with the E-M1. You just cannot tell when it will happen.
