I've managed to upload a few pictures of the sort of thing I like doing (Travel, Nature etc) so please feel free to take a look at my album now.

I wish the forum all the best - it's starting well with loads of helpful hints and suggestions.

I've resisted taking my E-500 caving (per my avatar where I'm holding onto my Pentax film camera), but now I've got my E-510 you never know... !

Regards
Andy

Hey Andy

Welcome to the site... it certainly has started off well eh!

I am Just 12 miles away from you then... a Newportonian through and through here :)

Have to say though, you wouldn't even get me down a cave, let alone my camera!!! a very brave man you are doing that...!

The closest I have been to caving, both with or without a camera, was when I went to Cheddar this autumn.

Welcome to the forum.

Hi Andy and welcome. Looking forward to some underground pics. I suspect that taking photos in holes in the ground is somewhat challenging to say the least!
Cheers

Off to Cardiff next week. Never been before.Try the weir in Sophia Gardens just behind the castle - there may be some remnants of leaping salmon still finding their way up the river Taff. Actually, the Taff trail is a great walk, and takes you right from that weir down past the castle, past the Millenium stadium (nice shots of stadium reflected in water), right the way down to the new Cardiff Bay area.

Was there with my daughter last weekend.

Quite a lot to see and photograph in Cardiff actually... hope you enjoy your day.

And if you get tired of the city centre then you can head to the bay which as all the Dr Who / Torchwood fans is a must...

As you can see from this self portrait !!!

Regards
Andy

Ta for the suggestions – I'll be staying in a hotel at the bay.

Nice city. I was down collecting my son from the Uni yesterday. Jammy scrote, I really would like to live there.

The bay will provide excellent opportunities for many type of shot. Couldn't correct the distortion in this image, but taken right in the bay in front of the Assembly building, but stood under the bridge...
