This is my first evening of using an Olympus, an E-M5. I have been a happy Pentax user for the last few years and well, wow.

I am missing the familiarity with the menu and controls but that will come with time.

But honestly what a great piece of kit!

anyway back to learning,

regards

Welcome to the wonderful world of OM-D, you will just get the menu under control and then be tempted by the EM-1, time to start getting frustrated all over again ;)

Have fun and share some results

Gents, thank you so much for your all of your kind comments.

It was the promise of the M1 that lured me away from Pentax and I got the EM-5 beaut from SRS today as a stop gap until it arrives, but I am starting to think thinking the EM-5 will do me more than nicely. I am hoping for some keepers from Duxford this weekend if so I shall share them here. I am about to look at the links!

thanks again and regards

Have fun at Duxford, the Aircraft are wonderful but some of the buildings make really good studies too. Just up the road from me :)

Hi folks, well I had my first day in anger with an Olympus, I hope this does not appear too self indulgent but here are my thoughts....
I was very used to Pentax K30 with a Bigma, I don't think that the percentage of keepers is as high as I would have had with my old set up but; two major considerations are that it was first time out and the light conditions were not comparable to those typical of a mid- summer airshow, so I am not disappointed at all.

The nitty gritty I missed the ergonomics of the K30 and that is all. everything else is positive.

I have posted some images on the gallery and there are more on my flickr account. ( I have failed in posting images here and any hints will be appreciated!)

many thanks and enjoy the rest of the weekend

A nice set Jonathan, I especially like the Tiger Moth and P40 on final approach. I've taken the liberty of posting them from your gallery here, hope that's OK :)

Thanks Greytop,

test posting! Is it normal for right click not to work? I am using CTRL C then CTRL V. Many thanks though, it had me stumped!
