These were taken a while ago and I have just revisted them and converted them to mono

I really like the second one, because it seems almost timeless. The central silhouette could almost be the Artful Dodger.

I'm intrigued by what appear to be vertical lines on the picture though. Is it my monitor or am I seeing things?

I think the first one is superb, the blurry sax player fits in well with the billboard behind him, the only thing i would do is add a bit of contrast to the brickwall. The mono conversion really gives this image amosphere. Brilliant picture shirley.*yes

I really like them. I think the first one's very good indeed - have you tried cropping out the stuff to the right to simplify the image down?

Thanks for comments.
Ellie - I dont see the lines but that might be a problem with my screen!

Phil - I have tried more contrast, what do you think about this?

Makonde - Is this the sort of crop you meant?

Thank you for the suggestions.

Exactly. You lose the open suitcase for the money .... but you have that (for me) nice concentrated message that quirkily juxtaposes 'London Ear' with the faceless crowd (of ears!) poster and the saxophonist playing so hard he's all a blur.

I like it a lot! The more I look at it ... if you have it in a good size / hi-res, try it on an agency or two? Very 2012, very Olympics / Olympus... Yeah. Mayor gets a mention too .... without being named... 'London is Listening'.... O yes, a major official ad campaign here; copy it to Boris' office with your copyright notice attached... Let us know how you get on, Shirley

Oh my goodness
What sort of agency do you mean:confused:?
Like the idea but not sure I have the cheek!

Well, I dunno - never done it. Alamy? I'm sure that others here have tried it. And why not? - give them something like the spiel above. And write/email to maybe Boris' office, or maybe better - Sebastian Coe's office. What is there to lose, Shirley? It might well catch their imagination. If not, well you had a go.

I'm not much cop as a photographer, but have a better record as amateur art critic... Now I look at your gallery, you've got some spiffing photos there, not least the ones for your LRPS. And I love the Tied Up one (that's a very good shot IMO), and the dairy bottle. Your hand of bananas has given me a possible way out of my current fruit'n'veg problem LOL.

So what do you think guys? How can we hoist Shirley into the London Eye? For the good of Olympus...

..

If it really is of help, by all means copy the idea...no problem.

Thanks for your encouraging feedback - it certainly would be a coup for Olympus if we could get some pics used as part of a major ad campaign.
You never know I might just try!!!!!!

Hi Shirley, I think a slight improvement, theres not more you can do. Unlike Makonde i prefer the full frame version, but i agree with Makonde about this shot as regards to earning potential, you should be able to retire on the proceeds its that good!
