Hello all,

Has anyone experience with using a monopod with the OM-D?
I am figuring that a monopod might extend the effectiveness of the IBIS, which of course is already great.

Thanks,

Chris

yes, I do it sometimes with the 75-300 and most often with my Tamron 500 mirror lens. I just leave the IBIS set to IS/1 and it works fine

If I'm tired I may sometimes use it for macro shooting with the 60mm macro, works fine but I find it a bit restrictive of movement in and around plants (but better than a tripod, which I now never use)

Monopods are always good with the longer lenses.

Have you thought about only using two legs on your tripod, you will be pleasantly surprised how versatile this is, and you can fold them together to make a monopod too :)

My tripod is an utter beast, so it would make a very cumbersome tripod I'm afraid, but I expect with a lighter model the leg folding technique would work well.
