I'm really amazed just how must I've gelled with this camera (sans grip).
I held one a few times not long after they were released and didn't like it and preferred the feel of the G3 and then the G5. But a few months back at Luton airport played with one in the camera shop and it felt good and the EVF was good so that played in the back of my mind.
With the free grip offer from Oly back this month I decided to bite the bullet and give one a go, not really expecting too much compared to the nice handling and feel of the G5 and GH3, well I was in for a surprise.
I liked it from the git go, the more I learned how to customize it just made it better. It has a nice "nippy" feel, I shoot in portrait and landscape pretty much 50/50 and the EM5 just flips from one orientation to the other as easy as pie and retains the same feel in either mode. My fingers just seem to fit right where they need to be and finding the buttons and dials is easy.
I really like the form factor and compact size, it's one of those cameras that just feels right for me with any of my lenses.
I've got the grip coming but really don't know if I'll use it, I like the nimble, compact feel and style of the EM5 which makes me a bit unique as most folk seem to prefer it with the grip.

An EM5 convert!!!

I glad your pleased with it, I love mine.
Thats the beauty of the E-M5, its as small as the Pen all but the EVF, but with the grips on it changes to a much larger more positive to grip proposition with extra thumbwheels to help with portrait mode, and extra battery on board....a jack of all trades and master of both in this case.
I keep taking my grips off and putting them back on - it only takes seconds.

Glad you like it, I knew you would.:D , best camera I've ever owned.

What Brian said,:) I think you'll like the grip(s) when you get them as well.

Yep, great camera, and welcome to the OMD posse *chr.

Btw, the grip is excellent, and particularly useful for those larger heavier lenses.

Can I get odds from a bookmaker anywhere that once you put the landscape part of the grip on that it'll nearly never come off again? :D

The only time mine comes off is when I use the leather 2 part cover, then it has to come off. But then I have the E-PL5 when I need a smaller set up to carry.

I was at the A4 gathering at the railway museum yesterday, the crowds were unbelievable One hourwait to get in. I was struck by the ammount of Panasonics that were being used by the crowd, Every other one seemed to be one.

Or when you have to change the battery :(
