The first image is of the Queen Mary 2 berth in Invergordon just over 2 miles away. I used the Panasonic handheld at maximum zoom, the lens stabilisation off, in camera stabilisation on. The three pictures were then cropped by 50% and merged to create this. Not bad detail considering all of the above...

The second image was taken with the Olympus 60 mm macro that arrived today, again hand held at 1:1, the camera locked focus nicely and this one is also cropped by about 50%

I am more than happy with both lenses, the results and the EM5 :)

That 1st picture with the zoom has a really good long range :) Nice colour too, you did well for the handheld... Here's two pictures of QM II docked in Liverpool, just with the kit zoom, from about 3.8 miles away.

Both good, sharp, images, but a question on the 60mm, please?

You stated that you cropped by 50%? Is this the closest focus the lens will get? Or is it like the 35mm, in that you can set to manual, wind it out to full 1:1 and then get in really close?
Thanks,
David
