View Full Version : A bird in flight

Okay so I spent the day running around with the E-30 and E-1 with the 50-200mm SWD set at 150. Trying to catch birds in flight, it can be done, with both, but you need sun, and ,or a shutter speed north of 1/1000,(at least I do). I did this to see / justify the purchase of the 40-150mm MSC lens, and the possible sale of the E-30, because the PL5 is really light years ahead of it. I'll keep the E-1 & HG lenses just in case I need weather seals, and the lenses are great. I also took the PL5 & Sigma 30mm with me.

It's not great, but I put no effort into it. Simply pulled the camera up, framed the bird in the focus square and squeezed the shutter. No half press to set focus, (no time). I am pretty amazed by this little camera.

I also found it has shadow and highlight control (curves) like the OMD too.

Okay it's not fair to say the E-30 can do something and not prove it.

This was after several minutes of chasing birds with the camera, and several blurred images.
