seems to be quite a selection available now from various manufaturers and I wondered what people considered the best buys in terms of quality and value for..
a) a wide angle zoom and
b) a selection of three prime lenses ie wide, standard and tele ?

Wide angle zoom - the Oly 9-18mm. Possibly not as good as the Panasonic 7-14mm but a lot cheaper.

Wide prime - not sure about this one. There's the Oly 12mm but not exactly a 'value' lens.

Standard prime - Panasonic 20mm/1.7. OK, slightly wider than standard (but not by much). Possibly not as good as 25mm/1.4 but a lot cheaper and more compact.

Tele zoom - the Oly 45mm/1.8. The 60mm and 75mm look very good, but the 45mm is hard to beat for quality and value.

Totally agree...I read that the 7-14 has a chromatic aberration issue which has to be corrected in post processing and it cant take filters because of the built in hood.
I dont have a wide zoom but i can vouch fro the 12mm, and the 45mm...both excellent - as is the 20mm and 25mm which I also have. 60mm would be next on my list.
