Yes, it's true! there is strong support for Olympus north of Watford! lol infact, we'll be posting events worldwide through the Olympus UK Photo Safari Group...

Safari Group Contact, Tom Heslop has just posted an event for the Durham Miners' Gala this Saturday - should be a fantastic street shooting opportunity!

Sorry to dissapoint anyone, but the Durham Miners Gala is a fraction of the size it was twenty years ago. It is still a colourful event, but I would say the marchers are probably in their hundreds now, rather than thousands.

However, Durham is still a wonderful city to visit. I would love to get a shot of the city from the railway viaduct, but the trains move too quickly, and most don't have opening windows these days.;)

Well, I'm sure there are lots of Olympus shooters within reach of Durham, who would appreciate the inspiration... I'm looking forward to seeing shots from this beautiful city.

Oh, and by the way - our Events Map has been rebuilt - the map will always be linked from our coordination website (http://www.ukphotosafari.org/announcements/), but here's a direct link.
