i seldom, use my 12-60. not so long ago tried using it and, as it locks focus, theres this very high pitch sound as it locks focus.

it does locks focus though, and no focus lock lag, same normal speed.

tried zooming in and out on different focal length, it does locks focus, quickly, though the sound persists

tried mounting my 50-200 SWD, no noise, as it locks focus,no issues

i only noticed this sound just now, it didnt exists from the day i bought it.

lens has never been dropped, or rather, well taken cared of..

bumped my thread...

just wondering if no 1260SWD owners had experienced this before?

Mine might be doing it, but I wouldn't be able to hear it as I have tinnitus!

How high pitched is it - can you describe it?

Just back from holiday and going through all the posts - I bought a secondhand 12-60SWD a while back that had a high pitch whine when focusing and as part of quering others on this tread, I posted a short video at http://e-group.uk.net/forum/showthread.php?t=17268 - if this video has a similar noise to yours then its likely to be that the focusing motor might need attention. Mine was sent off to Olympus and serviced.
