Anyone got both these lenses and able to take some comparisons at zoom extremes on a tripod?

I'm just interested in how much "more" you get at the wide and how much "less" at the tele.

I've almost convinced myself but would like to see a direct comparison *yes

Thanks David. I had a quick look earlier but couldn't find any side to side comparisons.

To be honest I'd kinda already made up my mind before posting this, however this link helped http://canopuscomputing.com.au/gallery2/v/main-page/Photography/Lenses/oly-fov-hires.jpg.html just before I pulled the trigger :)

So which did you go for?

The 14-42 is generally regarded the better lens, and that 14mm end beats the socks off 17.5mm. I've kept my 17.5-45 lens as it's better at extreme close ups than my 14-54 MkI (see Biofos comparison test).

14-42. I already have a 17.5-45 which gets the majority of use over my mkI 40-150. I find that I used the wide on my Ricoh much more than the tele so think that this was a good purchase.

I find that I really struggle to get any clear shots with the 40-150 at either end of the spectrum, more practice required I think. I also find the viewfinder very dark on everything but the brightest days which doesn't help.
