I am thinking of getting either the Zuiko 11-22 or the Sigma 10-20

can anyone advise as to what the best glass is

i know there is a forum member selling an 11-22 but have seen the sigma 10-20 as well at quite a bit cheaper

Sigma EX 10 mm - 20 mm F/4.0-5.6 HSM DG Lens For Olympus

Olympus Zuiko Digital Lens 11-22mm, f2.8-3.5

for landscapes would i just be better getting the cheaper sigma?

I can't comment on the 11-22, as I never owned one, but did have the Sigma 10-20mm on APS-C (twice!) and my copies were quite spectacular, especially given the price. The 1mm does make a difference, so don't dismiss it as not relevant!

Be warned that you will need to change your normal shooting style and start finding foreground interest and lead in lines to make the most of either of those two at lenses at 10/11mm - not always as easy as you think either.....

The 11-22 is one of the the legendary ZD lenses. 'Nuff said. Can't imagine that the sigma is as good even though it is wider (but slower). Given the choice it would be the ZD every time. Can't see why people are selling them off .

Have you considered the Zuiko 9-18mm f/4 ultra-wide?

I think that this lens is for M 4/3?
