Wonderful as these optics certainly are, I suspect their prices will be pretty hefty; maybe this will prompt the return of another largely forgotten but equally superb lens manufacturer, Cooke of Leicester, who were called TTH (Taylor, Taylor & Hobson) who are as equally renowned for their professional quality Cine lenses.

Between $3900 and $4900 each (if my Googling is correct!)

OK, I'll take two....!!

I don't know how costly modern Carl Zeiss lenses are apart from that bit of Googling, but I DO know that I have a simply wonderful Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar 85mm manual focus lens in my collection that I simply couldn't and wouldn't part with!

It was found in a friend's attic after sitting there unloved and unused since the 1970's...still performs beautifully and produces outstanding results although it's now over sixty years old! I've also acquired a 135mm CZ lens, but it's nowhere near the same quality...still produces outstanding results though.

I suspect the the modern CZ lenses will be WAY out of my reach!
