(Dumb question alert, sorry)

OK so its finally arrived and I'm waiting for the battery to charge. I wanted to put the flash on, removed the top cover from the hot shoe but the accessory port cover seems quite stiff. The manual shows it just coming directly off, and looking at it I think you are supposed to prise it off starting from the left side of the hump, and what I'm guessing is a U shaped cover will come off (as in the cover is across the back of the hump plus a bit on each side).

Is that correct, it doesn't hinge or anything? Don't want to break it before i've even turned it on...

It clips on at each side, so thumbnail one side and lever backwards...

I have to say the accessory port cover is a terrible design. I had a lot of trouble removing mine the first time - got the hang of it now. I can see it getting broken or lost, though, and presumably the camera won't be weather sealed without it.

Thank you for that. The cover is beautifully disguised as metal, but is more of a rubbery nature and it levers off nicely.

Still can't get over how small it is, lots to learn

Another thing for the "widget" box.
