UPDATE - I hope I haven't disappointed too many of you but of course I have a big box of OM1 commemorative miniatures. You can see photos and details here: http://e-group.uk.net/forum/showthread.php?p=152254#post152254

Claim your miniature details now up - go to: http://e-group.uk.net/forum/showthread.php?t=19005

I have a box full of dozens of Olympus OM1 camera bodies and lenses. Anyone interested in them? They are brand new too. They do seem a lot smaller than I remember. :D

Yeah, don't look too closely, just close the box up and ship it over here ... I'm sure the warehouse wouldn't send the wrong things would they?

I wouldn't say no to one!

Yes I'd like one ,my 30 year plus one can't go on forever.

What lenses have you got?

Yes please Ian and with a lens would be most pleasing.

The bodies are all silver ones and don't have the hot-shoe attachment (that was an optional extra of course). It's difficult to tell what lenses I have - one looks like a 50mm f/1.4 and the other seems to be a 135mm. Hmmm... looking at them again, they do look incredibly small! :)

Ian

A 50mm f1.4 would be nice if there's one going.

If you come across a 90mm f2 macro put it a side for me(some hope););););)

Ian
23rd February 2012, 09:06 AM
I can't guarantee them of course. So you will have to take them as they come. But they are all identical in condition and brand new. But they do look very small...

I will post some photos later this morning.

Ian. I dreamt of owning one of these back in 1976 when a friend brought one in to college. It was way out of my price range at the time but was responsible for my lifelong love of Olympus since. I never did own one; I bought an OM10 and OM2 SP (which I still have and is still working), so the chance of getting an OM1 body as a memento would be great. Thanks.

Brand new! If there's an om1 and lens going I'd like one too.:) I do have an om1 but it's seen better days.
Would like donations for these? Something to charity perhaps?
Want some help distributing them? As an avid film user I'd be very happy to help get a lot more people back into using the real thing!

Morning Ian -

Yes please, I would love to have one - body and lens would be wonderful! That would take me full circle, as, of course, I have used film cameras for a lot longer than digital! *chr

I'd certainly be interested Ian depending on how deep your box is.
Many Thanks for the thought.
p.s. Are they key rings or tea caddies? ;)

You are most generous Ian, if there is a spare body I would love to have one with a 50mm although I'm not fussy :)

If these are the ones I'm thinking they are (black and boxed) you'd need very small hands indeed to use them;)

They all come with the two lenses in the photos.

Now - you all do realise now that I was teasing and that these are commemorative miniatures? :) They aren't for sale, but e-group members can have one each until we run out of them.

I will post details concerning how to claim yours in due course.

Oohh, I know there's far too much clutter here already but I would love one!

The other lens looks very like the "90mm f/2 macro". Except that presumably it's micro :)

I saw the black version boxed set on Robin Wong's website. They were freebies for attendees of Olympus Malaysia's EM-5 lauch.

I wonder how much a full sized brand new, unused OM1 would be worth these days?

My first proper camera was a chrome OM1 complete with 50mm f1.4, purchased brand new in 1976 from Jessops (back when they used to send out those wonderful printed price lists, and were only located in Leicester).

I would love one for the dashboard of my car - on second thoughts, some folk round here would think they were the real thing and break in! But I'd still love one with any lens, please.

My guess is that they could be giving them out there, but I'm just in a process of working out P&P and hoping that Olympus will cover the cost in sending them out to e-group members (or e-groupies! :)).

Hey never been called a groupie before. Always a first time for everything I guess. Yes I'd love one of those little miniatures too Ian if you've any left. The real OM went when the kids arrived and we've always missed it. It was actually the wifes originally ;)

Anyway can I have one too please?

Ian, Can't you persuade Olympus to have something commissioned along the lines of these; For sale, not freebees of course.

Or even these;

My second 'proper' camera was an OM1 with 50mm f/1.8 also purchased brand new in 1976. I've still got both of them although they're not exactly mint condition anymore.

I remember those Jessops price lists as well.
