50 mm macro,now I understand

why everyone who has one raves about it.I used to think my old 50-200 was the sharpest lens I had,but not now.
These were taken with the 50mm and the EC14 handheld.Got quite a few OOF pictures today as was hand holding the E3.Tomorrow will try with a tripod.

Wow, those are superb *yes

I love my old OM macro lenses but the ED 50mm looks like it has moved the game on a bit. The wife's going to kill me, though, if I shell out for one :(

All great shots - but I'm really impressed with the 'underside' of the spider, if you can do that handheld then I look forward to some shots from the tripod.

I think it proves there's still a place for prime lenses over zooms – and not just in terms of size and maximum aperture. I've got the 35mm macro, which I must use more.
