Since first having my e-5 I have wanted to test the video capabilities, I saw that jessops was hosting a competition entitled The Shot, I needed to make a video under 10mins and it had to be called The Shot and thought this would be an excellent excuse.

Unfortunately I didnt find out till last minute, so I had very limited time and resources, the whole video was done in one take and appalling weather conditions. Due to the weather the sound from the internal mic was awful and resulted in making it a silent movie with the help of our John Burns (themusicman) to make a soundtrack for the video, who did an amazing job im sure you will agree.

I have learnt a lot and hope to put this into action for my next video attempt, I wont be using aperture mode next time and control the exposure correctly ;)

Anyway here is the video, look forward to comments

Definitely a new career move in the offing.
Well done, and a good recovery that is probably all the better for not using the camera's sound recording, as the music and silent movie approach helps add to the drama!
Who needs The Artist when an Oly user can get The Shot

awww thanks for the kind comments Chris, much appreciated :) ha ha not sure about a career, but definitely enjoyed doing it, video I feel is an extension of photography. I was really lucky with the creative soundtrack that john arranged for me.

I've now invested in an external microphone and LED light source that can be mounted on the hot shoe or off camera, so will hopefully be able to record better audio next time ;) *chr

Well I loved it!

A very commendable result for your first attempt.

I wouldn't say you were mental....slightly strange though! Good concept, well executed and with an excellent soundtrack from John.

I look forward to seeing more!

Quirky and well put together nice angles and the sound went well with it. Can't believe that was your first go at a video. Good luck with the competition.
