I have just got myself a 14-54mm 1:2.8-3.5 courtesy of ebay (It seem a bit of a good deal) It is a bit of a beast next to my kit lens. :eek:I hope to have a mornings shooting tomorrow:D

I don't think you will regret it. I find mine to be sharp, satisfying and strangely confidence building :)

Mind you, it doesn't look too comfortable on the front of my PEN

It lets in so much more light than the kit lens : this is good for both isolating focus and allowing the camera to autofocus fast ... at least that's what I find.

Do you prefer your PL 14-50 over the Oly 14-54?

If my E-1 had IS I'd probably have kept with the 14-54. I never take the camera out in the wet so I traded weatherproofing for a little extra effective speed with the in built IS of the PL.
