I have a strange uncontrollable urge to buy an E-500 as a 'back-up' body to my E-1.

Why would I want one?

I had an E-510 but the JPEG colour output put me off it (as with E-620 and E-3).
Liked the handling though. E-500 has a Kodak sensor, more MP than the E-1, larger LCD, but smaller viewfinder, albeit nicely offset to the left as with the E-1.

How does the E-500's KODAK KAF-8300CE sensor compare to the E-1's KAF-5101CE sensor, anyone?

Someone tell me not to be so foolish!

Don't be so foolish or on the other hand take a look at this (http://www.digitaldepot.co.uk/used-equipment/used-cameras/new-olympus-e-500-14-45mm-f-3-5-5-6-lens.html) *chr

Iain

Just missed a twin lens (17.5-45 & 40-150) one for 100 tonight!
Guy sold it to his nephew who'd just "popped round".
Phew... that WAS close!

There's also a twin lens (14-42 & 40-150) available to me for 150 but it's the silver one. Can't quite decide if I like it in silver or not? So, PHEW again!

Just a quick note about the Digital Depot used E-500 'Twin Lens' Kit
I bought this before Xmas and sent it back because the 40-150 was not included even though it was listed.
The box was the Twin Lens one but no Telephoto inside! When I called them they were very good and offered an immediate refund but not a 40-150 to go with it.
They may have added one now but it's worth checking.

I have a 40-150 MkII and the E-1's 14-54 MkI as well as a 17.5-45 (excellent for close up shots!) so it's really just a body I need.

No.....no.... Dobby been naughty, Dobby not need extra camera...

Probably for the same reason that I have an E-1, E-30, 2 x E-3s and an E-5 along with half the SHG glass range and most of the Pro glass range - because Oly makes great kit which I just love.
