I have seen a compatible battery for the E5 here, http://www.digitalmediastore.co.uk/batteries/camera_batteries/olympus/Olympus_BLM5_compatible_PREMIUM_rechargeable_batte ry__XAA-OYBLM5B-D.
Anyone had dealings with them, or used non Oly batteries for the E5?

Hi

For what it is worth, I have been using a second source (chinese make I believe) BLM-5 for my E-520 and it performs equally well compared to the Olympus original after 2 years and quite many charge cycles. Not specifically the one referred to in this thread, though. Considering the modest price tag I would give it a go.

I got a couple of Hahnel BLM-5 eqivs through London Camera Exchange and as far as I can tell they work fine. In fact I wouldn't be at all surprised if they are identical apart from the sticky label! CAn't remember exact price, sorry, but I think they were about GBP20 apiece.

Cheers ... John
