The November challenge is Silhouette. That's easier to photograph than spell, I assure you...

Here's a small example:

http://e-group.uk.net/gallery/data/610/1109191559007.jpg (http://e-group.uk.net/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/40353)

So, you need to sort out People, Pets, Places, Pecularities or anything else for that matter, that look good in silhouette. You need to think about exposure, composition and how to make your entry more silhouetty that the next person's *chr

Please PM your entries to me, Snaarman, or email them to pete @ snaar . co . uk and mark the PM or email with "Olympus Challenge". Entries accepted until midnight 30th November :)

Off you go!!!

(Perhaps someone can stickfy this post in the usual manner)

Pete

General rules:
-Max. 800 pixels in width or height
-Up to 512KB
-EXIF intact
-Taken by you on an E-series (4/3 or m4/3) camera between 1st November 2011 and 30th November 2011.
-Include your name, your forum moniker and a title for the picture.

Full rules:

1. Photos should be taken (dated in EXIF) between 1st and 30th November 2011 inclusive and sent in during that period. Photos will be posted in the gallery early December. We will vote in the week following, results announced soon after voting closes. More reminders and details nearer the date.

2. You must be the photographer who created the picture in order to enter the challenge, and all entries must be visibly anonymous and should be sent to the challenge organiser. You must indicate (a) your real name, (b) your e-group forum name and (c) a title for your photo, in the email. Any entries that are not clearly identifiable and verifiable won't be entered into the challenge.

3. Entries to the challenge :-

Should contain no watermarks, distinguishing effects and no borders
Must be jpg format and no more than 800 pixels on the longest edge
Must have been taken on an Olympus E-* camera
Must have all EXIF data included for the organiser to verify.
Max file size to suit the gallery here is 512kb.

4. You need to be registered on e-group.uk.net forums to qualify for entry into the challenge. The organiser may also enter the challenge (the entries are anonymous and the organiser is trusted to record votes accurately).

5. Only one entry permitted per challenge please. But if you want to withdraw an entry or replace it with another that's OK, you must make it clear in an email to the challenge organiser before the closing date, also ensure the email contains clear instructions and (if required) your replacement picture.

6. Voting on the challenge:-

Any registered member of the e-group forum may vote, including those who submit entries.
Those who submit entries may vote for their own photo but are expected to allot their choices fairly on perceived merit.
Voters should list their three choices in order of preference, by display number and title to avoid confusion.
Points will be allotted as follows: three to first choice, two to second choice, one to third choice.

Hi guys, we have had a good response to this contest, about 15 entries so far. Still have Wednesday left.

However: I seem to have complications with my recent operation and will place myself in the hands of the doctors again later today. I don't know where this will lead, but I may be out of commision for a while. Fear not, I haven't run away.

I won't be able to take any more entries myself, perhaps you coul email a Moderator if you have a shot you would like included. They have all power and I figure they could do it somehow...

In case I am out of the running for a while, I have placed the entries up to this morning (29th) in a gallery http://e-group.uk.net/gallery/showgallery.php/cat/1332 (http://e-group.uk.net/forum/../gallery/showgallery.php/cat/1332)

Maybe a moderator could pick them up and start a Voting thread for me on Thursday if I haven't done it....

Thanks for that :-) Prayers answered :) I'm pretty much pain free for the first time in 7 days.

"Doctor, after the operation, will I be able to play the piano?"
"I don't see why not"..

"Excellent. I've always wanted to play the piano"

Today's the last day, so if you're not at work (:)) than snap a silhouette. We have 16 entries so far, and I will formally present them tomorrow for voting.

Forum member Meach has offered to handle the voting procedure (thanks Paul) so you'll be sending your votes to him. Details tomorrow...
