View Full Version : FL 708 mm - Bigma and EC14

Re-posting a topic that did not get any feedback on the foto fair section.

The sample below is almost a full frame picture taken with the Sigma 50-500 @ 500 mm + EC14 for a total of 708 mm. Lens stepped down ~1 step. S-AF, shutter 1/125s, tripod.

In spite of far from perfect light conditions I believe the IQ is good, a tad soft perhaps, but this combo seems viable for long range shots.

What do you think?

I also did some tests with the EC20 but the AF never engaged in the way it should, even on contrast rich subjects.

Hi Tordan

Yes I think the 50-500 works very well given good light and you have done very well at 125th of a second.

Here's one I took a couple of years ago with that combination on the E3 mounted on a monopod.

I agree it's a bit soft but I find the same with my Bigma in poor light, even without the EC14.
