:)

Bought this 2nd hand a month or so ago and just had time to install it, thinking it would be a big job.

Takes about 30 seconds!

Now.... bliss! It's like having my old OM-2n back again. Identical horizontal split and surrounding 'fuzzy' ring which goes clear when focused.

Very happy!!

I've heard that some 3rd party screens affect metering. Is this one OK? (not that I have anything to put one on....)

I had bought a Katzeye split focus screen for my P###x K-7 and it was excellent, brilliant for manual focus work (of course) and also a pretty good additional autofocus confirmation aid.
It did affect spot metering with the K-7 but it's easily compensated for.
Let us know how you get on with it.

I'd read that it may affect metering but that this could be catered for.

Took a few shots yesterday but no time to inspect them so far.

Cost me 30 posted, from ebay. Had to clean it up but there's no damage to it.

Will post some pics taken with it (metering) and some of the insides when I get a spare moment!

Quick review of the few pics taken yesterday suggests there's no metering problems.

I suppose one of the advantages of the horizontal split is that you can define where your precise focus point will be, as in this shot taken whilst trying it out yesterday. I wasn't trying to focus on any particular frond stem, although I did use one of them, but you get the idea...
