If any member spots a "High Street" outlet, or an internet deal for a new E520 or E510, could they please flag it up here ?

I know both are discontinued, however I did come across one online - sold before I could contact the store unfortunately.

I've found this one 2nd hand

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Olympus-E-520-14-42mm-lens-Digital-Camera-LOW-USE-/200618898131?pt=UK_CamerasPhoto_DigitalCameras_Dig italCameras_JN&hash=item2eb5d172d3

Seems quite a good deal for what looks like a very lightly used one.

Apart from that, it appears that new ones are as rare as the proverbial hen's teeth!

I noticed on Kerso's latest list he was listing both E510 and E520 kits/body's which I would assume are new.

Do you have a link to Kerso's list? I've looked on his evilBay site and I can't find any...

Thanks Janet, I'll keep watch on Ebay.

I've found a (very) few online deals - however it's not clear if kit is in stock, so I've emailed for confirmation.

A couple of offers appear dodgy.

If you email Kerso on ebay you may find he still has a few , he certainly did earlier in the year . Regards Tim

Janet, I have a copy of the list from a couple of weeks back (May 25th I think) which lists both but you'd be better to email him directly and get the latest prices, if you need his email address please PM me and I'll send you it,

Chris

I've located a good condition second hand E520 with 14-42 lens.

My thanks to those who helped point me in the right direction.

BTW - Kerso has 2 x E510 (body only) @ 175 if anybody is interested.

Officially Edinburgh but I'm never here due to work!

Work ?

What's that, I'm happily retired !!!

I hope "work" is not an euphemism for foot slogging around Afghanistan to keep the locals in order !!!

Have to nip out, speak later.

Thanks very much for the tip, I have been looking for a minty mint or new E-510 for some while (always regretted selling mine a few years back). They're a great little D-SLR (apart from the tendency to clip highlights).
That price on a brand new one is too good to miss, Ian has just informed he is shipping mine tomorrow AM :)

Huw - do you need Kerso's contact details ?

Thanks but it's OK I've dealt with Ian Kerr (Kerso) a number of times in the past (always excellent service).
To be honest I was surprised but very pleased to hear he had some old stock. Thanks again for the tip *chr

No problem, it was the decent thing to do.

I mentioned an E520 & 14-42 late last week that was showing on a website at a decent price, without naming the location.

When I called the next morning it was gone - now I enquire for first refusal before going public !!!

Sorry to hear you lost out on the E-520 & 14-42

So are you going for the other of Kerso's 510s or going to look out for a another 520?

Edit: Or perhaps you shouldn't say ;)

My own fault entirely (procrastination) on the new E520. It was in Glasgow, so I could easily have gone over and picked it up in person.

Life is an ongoing learning process !!!

For years I've encouraged my wife not to be indecisive and to buy something she's seen and liked but which is not liable to be available too long - now I'm hoisted by my own petard !!!

I've since located a very good pre-owned one at a fair price, so I'm happy.

Otherwise I would have had no hesitation ref. Kerso's offer on the E510.

Found one, very good condition.

The box says the package comes with a training DVD, however this was not included, obviously an oversight.

Is it something that is easy enough to pickup ?

Welcome to the forum Pickie32 :)
I think you would be better off posting this in the For sale and wanted small ads (http://e-group.uk.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=29) section.
