View Full Version : E620 - Silver ?

I've just stumbled upon a website offering an E620 package at a VERY attractive price.

However, it's advertised as Silver - as far as I know, this camera (like all other regular Olympus E series) is only marketed in black.

Can anybody confirm this ?

I suspect whoever listed the product on the website has confused the E620 with one of the Pen models.

I believe you're right as there's never been a Silver 620 or any 4/5 either for that matter. If the price advertised seems really good, it may indeed refer to a E-PL1.

Going back several years they did produce some E500's in silver/grey.Looked really plastic and nasty.
Not aware of any models since.

It's quoted at 360.99 - and appears to be the twin lens package.

That can't be right !!!

I'm awaiting a reply from the website - I'll advise when they respond.

That's a great price, if it for a twin lens package.

Try Googling froomoo for customer reviews. It looks like a HK company similar to Simply Electronics with a bad reputation for taking your money, failing to deliver and taking ages to refund.

If it looks too good to be true it probably is I'm afraid.

They have a UK landline number and address.

It does look too good to be true though.

Reviews seem iffy at best; just make sure you pay by credit card. ;)

Yup, the customer experience (http://www.webutation.net/go/review/froomoo.com#) doesn't seem to good.... I think I'd avoid no matter what the price.

Yes, use a credit card to be covered if you decide to buy. Great price.

oh crikey that is tempting.... too good to be true ?

Slightly reassured that they take credit cards.

Good price on 12-60mm too, got to leave it alone methinks

If Olympus have decided to only go the micro 4/3 route, they may well be flogging whatever stocks of E4/5/6 to clear some shelf space, which explains why some dealers like the one mentioned here are able to sell at a low price when they buy pallets of the stuff.

If that's the case why not get a couple of kits from a Shop Clearance at somewhere like Argos and them sell on here for a quick profit.

I've spotted a (new) E520 with 14-42 at 360 which would do me.

It's a proper camera shop in a city centre location.

Too many doubts about froomoo - probably kit shipped from abroad, which is fine until HMRC takes an interest.

That wouldn't be Merchant City Cameras by chance would it? They have a fair amount of 2nd hand Olympus kit as well. I was in there on Monday lunchtime drooling over the 50-200 non SWD they have there but at 500 it's too rich for me. They have a nice selection of OM cameras as well.

I enquired of them earlier this week regarding the E-620 package:-

The description of this product isn't clear, especially where it lists what is in the box, lenses are not mentioned. Does it come with the two lenses or not?.

Also, if it is shipped from HK, how can you pay the customs duty before it is delivered to me in France?

And I received this reply.

Dear Chris,

Thank you for your email.

The item does come with two lenses yes. We pre-pay all customers import duties. Please contact us if you require any further information.

Kind Regards

They also accept Paypal, so you are protected if they don't supply. Paying duty might be a bit of a scam, because there is 0% duty on digital cameras here. 19.7% VAT though. I will ask if they pay the VAT too ;)

Jamie - apolgies for the delay in responding, I "lost" this thread and couldn't remember where it was located.

Yes, it was Merchant City Cameras. I e-mailed them about the new e520 deal without a reply, and by the time I called it had been sold - the previous day !!!
