Anybody had experience of the Spider Pro system for camera strap replacement - http://www.spiderholster.com/spiderpro-systems.html. *???

I don't like standard straps particularly and I'm playing around with my own home made variant of the "snaarstrap" which works fairly well. Then I took a look at this system which on the face of it is great, notwithstanding price, and ought to work.

I suspect it's one of those things you need to try first to see if it works for you or not.

No experience of the Spider Pro but I have a similar B-Grip which works OK: B-Grip (http://www.crookedimaging.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=10248)

Thanks Steve - certainly a lot cheaper and arguably more flexible.

One question though. Can you have your tripod plate attached as well ?? The Spider does allow that which is a major advantage.

No, you can't fit a tripod plate as the B-Grip has it's own plastic plate which screws onto the camera. The B-Grip plate looks like a tripod plate but it won't fit a tripod. You would have to remove it first and then fit a tripod plate.

Thanks for the comments and information guys.

One thing I need is to be able to have a tripod plate attched so the narrows the field somewhat. The spider system does that. I'll have to find somewhere I can look at one.

thanks again

Have you considered the Black Rapid strap system which has a Manfrotto plate mod with strap attachment loop? http://www.blackrapid.com/product/camera-strap/rs-4/

I use the Q-Strap copy of the R-Strap but I also ordered the ConnectR-2 http://www.blackrapid.com/product/hardware/connectr/ to go with it for reliability.
I would recommend buying directly from the manufacturer (Black Rapid) for best price & efficient shipping.
