View Full Version : What's happened to my E5?

Since owning the E5, I have not always been impressed with the consistency of the AF (or IS) when used with 300mm f2.8 + EC14, compared my E30. Some shots have been spot-on but a high proportion have been unacceptable. I have posted on this issue before but despite trying all different settings, especially with IS, the situation has not changed much until this week. Now virtually every shot has been a keeper! I have just come back from the "swamp" having taken 120 shots of a Wood Sandpiper at about 50 metres in slightly dull conditions and about 90% are sharp and satisfactory. Nothing has changed as far as settings are concerned, I've even been using IS1 whilst resting on the bird hide window ledge, and I now have more keepers than I want to store. I just hope it stays this way!

Any body any clues to this baffling development?

Afraid I can't help with this one, David. It's a great development, of course, but it would be nice to know the reason behind it in case the problems re-occur.
