I've been very occupied with my 365, trying to learn new things/settings etc on my camera. One thing I have become painfully aware of is I cannot get a good "portrait" orientation photo using my Metz flash... is it possible to use the 48 AF-1 off camera, and how?

Many thanks
T :)

I think as long as you have the latest firmware (for the flash) the Metz 48 AF-1 is RC compatible. This flash was first produced before Olympus rolled out RC flash, so I don't know how old your example is. The manual may or may not cover the use of RC. You may need to download an updated manual.

Hi Tracey

I have a Metz 48 AF-1 and the manual certainly suggests that the flash can be used remotely (pages 70-71 in my manual). The menu option on the flash to set it up is 'SL'.

I have never tried to use it as my E-510 wasn't capable of remote flash however I have just upgraded to an E-5 and it is now on my 'to do' list.

If you are unable to find the instructions in the handbook or online I will gladly PM you a scanned copy.
