Which one? Samyang make a 35mm f1.4 and an 85mm f1.4.

I've heard good things about the 85mm, there's a flickr discussion here;

I seem to recall that when it was announced it was going to be available in 4/3 mount but looking at the Samyang web site they don't list 4/3 as an available mount.

There's times I think it would be nice to have a manual focus set of primes as that's what I used for 3 decades. So occasionally I considering getting one but I already own the Tamron 90mm f2.5 macro.

Hi David

Thanks for your reply.The reason i am looking at this lens is for sport photography under floodlights, i took some using a sigma f2.8 but with the weather (rain)and poor light not a great night

As long as you've got the manual focussing skills I think it would be a nice lens for your intended use.

As someone who shot 24 hour endurance races in the early/mid 80's I'd have loved the equivalent of a 170mm f1.4 for the dusk, night and dawn shooting.

Hi David

I forgot to mention that i had an OM 50mm off my old 10 i just bought an adapter for it so perhaps i should try that first to get the hang of manual focusing .

The Sigma would certainly be compatible, but I don't know how well it works with the EC-14 in terms of image quality.

I have an old OM Zuiko 50mm f/1.4 and it works OK, and only cost 60 off eBay. Mine's a mid-era one, so it has multi-coating and, I believe, slightly better optics than the earlier version. But ones with serial numbers above 1 million are supposed to be better still. Mine is not very sharp at 1.4, but it soon sharpens up when stopped down a little.

Yeah, if you're not used to manual focusing that would be a good plan. If you get the hang of MF there's lots of legacy glass you could use.
