I had to try tone mapping. The wave looks so textured and it shows the movement and power so well.

That looks really impressive and I agree it really shouts out at you. I think that its a shame that the top of the wave is missing from the image. I kmow its difficult to predict the frame in these circumstances. Perhaps, in such circumstances, a wider angle shot that is cropped might work well.

Thanks for posting this image. Its one of the most lively images of this sort I have seen here. Well done.
