Hi folks

I've managed to pick up the 50-200mm (Mark I - non SWD) for a great price...but it's missing the tripod mount. Can anyone point me to a replacement / alternative?

I'm aware of the Manfrotto 293, but would prefer something a bit lighter...or, better still, the original Olympus mount.

Thanks a million

People here often mention Luton Camera Repairs for bits & bobs like this - http://www.lutoncameras.co.uk/ .

Hope this helps ... John

Thanks for the quick reply John

I can't find one on their site but I've dropped them an email

It would help if I knew the exact part number (remembering this is for the original version of the lens, not the SWD version)

Can anyone help with the part number?

I've checked my lens and there's no identifying number on the tripod mount or in the instructions leaflet which came with the lens. Sorry :o

Hi CallaWolf

Congratulations with your new lens, you will love it !

I found thins link on the internet

http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/product.asp?product=1338&page=accessories from Olympus America

It says that:
"Tripod Collar for Zuiko 50-200mm F2.8-3.5 SWD
Repalcement tripod collar for the Zuiko Digital Lens 50-200mm F2.8/3.5 SWD only. This will not fit the 50-200mm F2.8-3.5, choose that lens for the proper tripod collar. Item #VK839400-460
Price: $35"

So I would advice you to contact Olympsu UK and be careful not to buy a tripod mount for the SWD.
If this turns out to be impossible then don't worry, I very seldom use my 50-200 mm on tripod.

I wish you good luck :)

I have asked if a spare is available from Olympus UK/Europe and will let you know when I get some news.

Just had an email from Olympus - they don't have one in stock so it will have to be ordered as a spare part. This could take time.

But maybe from one of the earlier posts the tripod mount is no longer required?

Please let me know.
