When walking, I prefer to use a normal rucksack so I have space for waterproofs food etc.

I have soft pouches for the lenses but want something a bit more robust & waterproof.

I've found my ED 40-150 (in its pouch) sits quite snug in one of those heinz beans fridge containers.:D
I'm now looking for something for my 70-300 - I'm thinking of a bit of 3" drain pipe with caps at either end.
Assuming that doesn't work and I can get out of tightfist mode can anyone recommend a hard case that goes with this lens?

Don't forget to wrap them in a pair of socks, too. That's what I did when I took skiing photographs.

Hard protection on the outside, soft protection on the inside. Like an armadillo...

Hi Homer
I have an OM 300mm in a square Glenlivet 12yo Whisky bottle outer, the special leather outer and a bonus is that it comes with a good bottle of whisky*chr
