In Digital Camera magazine this month.

Mr Webmaster sir, if we could have a section here for UK photo freebies/promotions, then I'll be sure to share with the group every time I see one.

I've had lens cleaning cloths, a hotshoe spirit level, sensor swabs (ok that one's not that useful for us lot) etc all from the front of uk magazines, which often cost less than the freebies do if bought in the shops.

Cheers for that, picked up the last copy at my local Asda.

Can I ask a silly question? How do you use the Lens test chart?

Cheers

Just fix it to a door or something, set the camera up on a tripod and fill the viewfinder with the card, or if you want to test the IS handhold. Take the shots at various apertures and see what aperture gives the best result. If you want to see how the different lenses compare just do the same but swap lenses.

Thats how I would do it :)

Call me a cynic but I think the main function of the 'lens test chart' is to save DCM from having to admit that they gave a free gift of a piece of grey card...

Cynic! lol.

You want to look at DPReview sometime. You will learn
a) how to be properly cynical, and b) that there are those in this world that would happily spend their lives photographing nothing but a lens test chart.

However, if you want to know the capabilities of your lens, why not? I think it's one of those things I'll use only a few times, so i'd much rather have for free than pay for.
