DPReview email news letter went out today with this:

Off into the sunset?
We're readying the Champagne to smash across the bows of our soon-to-be published review of Olympus' flagship E-5. Assumed by many to represent the end of the conventional Four Thirds DSLR family, the range-topping E-5 could well represent something of a high water-mark. It inherits the battleship-like build and famously water-sealed body of the E-3 but featuring a newer 12MP sensor and the latest iteration of the company's impressive image processing. So there's a slightly elegiac feeling as the review rests on the slipway, ready to be launched into the unknowable swell and surge of the Internet.

Somewhat flowery words!

Should be an interesting read, if a little late to the table.

Somewhat flowery words!

Indeed flowery, in literature, an elegy is a mournful, melancholic or plaintive poem, especially a funeral song or a lament for the dead.;)

I think they are having a veiled pop at some posters on that forum, many having complained about the snail like progress of the 'review' :D

It will be interesting to see if the reviewer(s) manage to keep even handed view point given the not inconsiderable vitriol directed at them in some recent threads....

Sounds to me as if they're going to emphasise the 'end of the line' aspect: 'the system that never made it, but valiant try' etc etc.

Oly's marketing people need a good kicking for the mess they made of that one!
