Using the Leica 14-150mm on the E5 raises no AF issues as with the 300mm f2.8. However when used with the EC20 (which nobody advises!) the AF works perfectly at 14mm but back focussing more and more towards full zoom, to the extent that even -20 (the max) on AF adjust still does not do the job at 150mm. This not a mega problem as MF can be used to fine tune. In an effort to achieve MF fine tuning more easily I switched to LV. Low and behold the AF does not need any MF fine tuning with LV and is spot on! How do we explain that?

Different focussing methods, LV uses contrast detect and the VF uses phase detect.

Yes I suppose if I'd read my manual in more detail (it's taking some while to get through it) I would have known that although it wouldn't occur to me how it could affect AF accuracy. However I have activated the PD AF in LV and the results are the same. The mystery deepens!
